TPI Golf Fitness Coach Andy Watson Joins Swanston Golf Academy!
We are thrilled to announce that Andy Watson will be joining the Swanston Golf Academy team as our official TPI Partner and Golf Fitness Coach, starting Wednesday, 3rd September 2025!
Andy will initially be available Wednesday mornings between 6am and 10am, offering TPI Golf Movement Assessments and golf-specific fitness coaching to help you unlock more distance, avoid injury, and finally fix what’s holding your swing back.
A Bit About Andy
Golf has always been a constant in Andy’s life—from hitting his first golf ball at age 5 to competing in the junior section at Turnhouse Golf Club. At 17, a promising career in football took over, and golf took a back seat. But after experiencing a life-changing cardiac arrest at age 23, Andy returned to the game he loved—this time with a whole new perspective.
After over a decade in personal training and years of research into golf-specific fitness, Andy discovered a new purpose: helping everyday golfers improve their performance through the power of movement and mobility.
Through the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI), Andy is a certified specialist in helping golfers optimise their bodies for the demands of the modern golf swing. He brings a science-backed, player-first approach that focuses on real results for real golfers.
Coaching Philosophy
Andy helps golfers of all ages and abilities improve their game by working on what really affects the swing—how your body moves. His method is based on five key pillars of golf fitness:
Motor Control – Making sure the body can perform the movements needed to create real change.
Mobility & Flexibility – Improving range of motion to unlock a more efficient swing.
Stability – As Andy says: “You can’t shoot a cannon from a canoe.”
Strength – Building stronger muscles to create more force and speed.
Power (Rate of Force Development) – Turning that strength into speed, for more distance off the tee.
