How We Coach — Swanston Golf Academy

Swanston Golf Academy

How we coach.
Why it matters.

Golf has two problems.

For beginners, it's the front door. Too intimidating to walk through. Too easy to assume it isn't for you. Too many people walk past a driving range and never go in.

For everyone else, it's the fog. No clear system. No visible progress. No honest answer to the question most golfers are quietly asking: what should I actually be working on?

Most coaching doesn't solve either. It delivers information without direction, lessons without a pathway, technology without context.

We're building the solution to both.

Our mission is simple: make great golf coaching accessible to everyone — beginners who need a way in, and golfers who need a way forward. These ten principles are how we make that real.

02

Beginners belong here

Golf has a reputation for being unwelcoming. We're building the opposite. If you're nervous, uncertain, or convinced you're "not a golfer" — this is exactly the right place to start. We meet you where you are, without judgement.

03

Progress is personal

One size fits no one. We take time to understand where you are, where you want to go, and what genuinely motivates you. Your pathway is built around you — not around a template.

04

Clarity over confusion

Golf is already complicated. We make it simple. Every session ends with a clear picture of what to practise, why it matters, and what comes next. You should never leave a lesson wondering where you stand.

05

Structure creates freedom

The best learners are independent learners. We give you a system — clear milestones, visible progress, honest feedback — so you can own your development, not depend on us for every step forward.

06

Curiosity over compliance

We don't want you to just do what we say. We want you to understand why. Golfers who are curious about their own game improve faster, practise with more purpose, and stay in the game longer.

07

Excellence is consistency, not intensity

Improvement doesn't come from one breakthrough session. It comes from showing up, doing the work, and trusting the process. We coach for the long term. Every session builds on the last.

08

The small things matter most

You fall to the level of your preparation, not your potential. We pay attention to the details others overlook — grip, alignment, routine — because the fundamentals compound over time.

09

We coach the person, not just the swing

Confidence, mindset, and resilience are part of the game. We notice how you respond to challenge, how you talk to yourself on course, and what gets in the way of your best golf — and we coach those things too.

10

Modern tools, human coaching

TrackMan, CoachNow, Operation 36, shot tracking — we use the best technology available to make learning faster and clearer. But the numbers always serve the person. The player is the most important person in the room. Always.

Every decision we make is filtered through one question.

Does this help more people feel safe to start, and stay long enough to fall in love with the game?

We believe every player deserves access to golfing excellence. And we're building the place where that becomes possible.
