Another Successful Play 9 Season Comes to an End - Event 10: Season Finale

We’ve made it to Event 10 of Play 9 - Score 36!

Thank you to those that joined us for the final event of the season. With a full field, 7 of those were new Play-9ers.

12 players shot par or better and have now secured their next level for a future season.

Alan Watt, Aran Sinclair, Thomas Bell and Mike McNally were out on the course providing some coaching and support.

It was Thomas’ turn to step up and kick off the event with a tee shot for Beat the Pro. Thomas hit a lovely shot, it looked great in the air but took a terrible bounce straight left and into the bunker! Could you make the green to beat Thomas!? Congratulations to Michael Babych who shot 32 (-4 under) to win the seasons final  Lowest Individual Score.

Jackie Stewart took the prize for Lowest Junior Score (U18)! This was his first event and he scored 34 (-2 under par) - great effort Jackie!

Richard Henderson hit a super shot from the tee to win the Closest to the Pin competition on the 9th hole.

An impressive team effort from Richard & Sarah Henderson and Jackie & Brian Stewart landed them an average of 35.5 and were awarded the Lowest Team Score.

Consistency Award & Most Improved Player

Caroline Casey had a very successful morning - not only was she crowned the Most Improved Player, she also took away the Consistency Award. Both very well deserved!

Caroline has now played in 11 Play 9 events to date. She has consistently returned and stuck with the game & practice, with a view to looking to better her score and move onto the next level. Caroline was awarded a £100 Autoluxe+ Edinburgh voucher.

Caroline had a difference of 7 shots from last event and scooped up the Most Improved Player - well done Caroline! Her prize was a fantastic £100 voucher for a TPI Assessment with Andy Watson, TPI-Certified Golf Fitness Coach.

Beat the Pro

So poor Thomas’ shot was looking like a great one, but unfortunately took a bounce and missed the green.

Congratulations to Helen Heaney, Siobhan Aspinwall, Rona Anderson, Meghan Rochford, Harrison Fegen, Stuart Cluley, Faris Rahman, Brian Stewart & Jackie Stewart who all made the green and Beat the Pro.

Well done to Richard Henderson & Lauchlan Macdonald who both passed Level 5! We now have a group of 8 players who have completed levels 1 - 5 on the Templar Course. They will make up our first team ready to take on the next level on the main course.

Thank you to everyone who has joined us this season! We’ve now had a whopping 160 players have a go within the first and second seasons. We’ve enjoyed seeing the community spirit, the perseverance and to top it all, the progress that has been made.
