Two new Play-9ers score -10 under par, Event 7: Sponsored by Caley Golf
Event 7 of Play 9 - Score 36: Sponsored by Caley Golf saw 26 players, a whopping 10 of them being new Play-9ers! 15 players, that’s over half of the field, achieved par 36 or better and have advanced to the next level - great work!
Out on the course providing some coaching were Alan Watt and Mike McNally. Mike brought back the Beat the Pro competition - read on to hear the results!
We welcomed back Jonathan Galway, and Charlie Thomas joined us for the first time. Both scored 31 (-5 under par) to win Lowest Junior Score (U18)! Both boys will move to the next level - well done and we look forward to seeing you at the next event!
It was super close between two teams for the average team scoring. With an average of 30.33, congratulations to Ken Wong, Richard Henderson & Keith Gunn who were awarded the Lowest Team Score.
Kate Thomas and Keith Gunn both also joined us for their first events and both shot a super impressive 26 (-10 under par). Congratulations to them both on scooping up the Lowest Adult Score.
Kate had a very successful game, also winning the Closest to the Pin award.
Consistency Award
The 2nd winner of the Consistency Award goes to Richard Henderson.
A reminder this award isn’t for the most consistent scores. Richard has played consistently in our events, having 10 under his belt. Richard has committed to his coaching and practice, as well as sticking with it when not quite achieving par. Congratulations to Richard who is the lucky winner of a £100 Autoluxe+ Edinburgh voucher.
Richard’s lucky wife, Sarah who also plays in the events, will be treated to a Premium Internal & External Deep Clean for her car!
Shout out to Richard who not only picked up the award, broke the barrier of level 4 and will now take on the Templar Course from the tee box at his next event.
Also a shout out to Jason Caruana & Ken Wong, both passed level 5 today! They will join a few others who await the announcement of the Play series!
Beat the Pro

Mike hit a shot from the tee box on the first hole and… he made it to the green.
Congratulations to George Mackay, Angela Saunders, Emma Donaldson, Ian Sandilands, Kay Sandilands & Denise Deng who not only managed to make the green from their tee shot, but also got closer to the whole than Mike’s shot!
