Sunshine & A Mystery Prize - Event 8: Sponsored by Caley Golf
We had a superb turnout for Event 8 of Play 9 - Score 36: Sponsored by Caley Golf . 33 keen players took on the challenge, 10 of those were new Play-9ers join the community!
10 players shot par or better and will take on the next level at their next event.
Out on the course providing some coaching were Alan Watt and Mike McNally. It was Alan’s turn to hit the first shot of the day for the ‘Beat the Coach’ competition - read on to see if Alan made the green & to find out if anyone took on the challenge and was successful!
Stuart Kennedy joined us for his first event with his 2 sons. He shot a very impressive 26 (-10 under par) to win Lowest Individual Score.
Lauchlan Macdonald took away the prize for Lowest Junior Score (U18)! He scored 35 (-1 under par). Well done Lauchlan!
Helen Heaney won the Closest to the Pin competition on the 9th hole.
Congratulations to Greg McDonald & Josh Kale who were awarded the Lowest Team Score both scoring 35.
Consistency Award
The winner of the Consistency Award was Sarah Henderson.
Sarah is another consistent play-9er having competed in 11 events. Sarah was awarded a £100 Autoluxe+ Edinburgh voucher.
Most Improved Player
We introduced another new award at Event 8 for the Most Improved Player. We looked at the scores for anyone who played in Event 7 and compared them with their latest score. Josh Kale came out on top - not only did he decide to give Level 2 a go, and passed on his first attempt, he improved by 3 shots scoring -1 under par. Josh is the lucky winner of a fantastic £100 voucher for a TPI Assessment. His award was presented by Andy Watson, TPI-Certified Golf Fitness Coach. Finally, congratulations to Gregor Mccrum who passed Level 5! We now have 6 play 9-ers ready to take on the main course!
Beat the Coach
Alan’s tee shot missed the green left. 17 players took on the challenge…all they had to do was land their ball on the green to succeed.
Only 4 of them made the green for a win. Congratulations to Hannah Wigglesworth, Siobhan Thomas, Karen Shackleton & Stuart Kennedy who all made the green!
